Public Works Street Operator

The Town of Jackson, Public Works Department is now accepting applications for the full-time position of Street Operator. Winter Street Operators

The Town of Jackson, Public Works Department is now accepting applications for three winter seasonal Street Operators. These positions pay $18.00/hour and are 40 hours/week from November 1, 2017 – April 15, 2018, rental housing provided.  Primary duties include snow removal operations on Highway 89/191/189 through the Town limits as well as Town streets, alleys and parking lots, and backup assistance to the water and wastewater teams as necessary.  Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.  Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: High School graduation or equivalent and a Wyoming Class B Commercial Drivers License.  These positions are included in DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing as well as drug free workplace testing.  Application and job description may be picked up at the Town Hall at 150 East Pearl in the Administration Office, or contact the Personnel Department-Town of Jackson, P.O. Seasonal Start Drivers

START Bus is currently hiring full and part-time winter seasonal drivers starting at $18/hr. These positions start November 25, 2017 and run through April 8, 2017. Typical qualifications include: Wyoming Class B Commercial Driver’s License with air brake and passenger endorsement or the ability to obtain. Applicants with a valid CDL are preferred, but applicants without a CDL making the commitment for the entire winter season will receive assistance in obtaining a CDL from the Town of Jackson. Legal Extern – For Credit-Legal Department

The Town of Jackson is accepting applications for the position of Legal Extern. This, for credit position, is under the direction of the Town Attorney. The legal extern may conduct legal research, gather evidence, develop arguments and testimony, analyze legal issues, recommend plans of action, prepare legal instruments, reports and correspondence, and gather other information to assist the town attorney in decision-making processes. Substantive areas of law the extern is likely to explore include, municipal law; constitutional law; administrative law; contract law; local government law; land development regulations, zoning and land use law; franchise law; municipal code issues regarding permitting, licensing, public safety, peace, morals, and motor vehicle/traffic issues.

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to a bachelor’s degree plus a minimum 1 year completed towards a law degree. Applicant must have excellent written and oral communication skills, computer experience, and good references. The number of credits earned, deadline for application and duration of term will be in accordance with the requirements as set forth by the student’s law school externship program and volunteer work may continue after school requirements are filled based on mutual agreement. This position is perpetually open and will be filled on a first come first served basis and based on qualifications. This position is for credit, voluntary and is not compensated.
