Summary of Town Council Action taken on September 5

Below is an overview of the evening Town Council meeting held in the Town Council Chambers on Tuesday, September 5, 2017.


  • New Police Officer Jeff Capra was introduced and welcomed to the Town.
  • The Council approved a Memorandum of Agreement with the County, Municipal Court, and District Court regarding the County Court Interpreter.
  • A Temporary Sign Permit was approved for Shervin’s Tire Sale subject to conditions and restrictions.
  • An addendum and amendment to the Bike Share Program B-CYCLE Agreement was approved.
  • The ISOC Championship Snow Cross special event at Snow King was denied.
  • A Memorandum of Understanding with Snow King Resort was approved.
  • The construction staging and phasing plan for construction at 110 Center Street was discussed and approved.
  • An Ordinance Z was introduced and passed 1st reading that adds Chapter 5.80 Residential Rental Property Regulations to the Jackson Municipal Code.
  • An appeal for an Operator’s Permit was heard and the Council upheld the Police Chief’s denial.


The Town Manager reported on special meetings scheduled for the Engage 2017 LDR and Rule updating process and changing property management services to be handled by the Housing Department.
