The Jackson Police Department wants to be a community partner in addressing alcohol abuse and encouraging safe, healthy drinking habits.  In an effort to better serve the community, three officers recently attended Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) training.  At the conclusion of the training, Sgt. Michelle Weber, Cpl. Alex Ayling, and Officer Andrew Carter became a certified TIPS trainer.

TIPS is the global leader in education and training for the responsible service, sale, and consumption of alcohol.  TIPS is a skills-based training program that is designed to prevent intoxication, underage drinking, and drunk driving. For this reason many liquor license holders send their employees who serve alcohol to TIPS training in an effort to make sure they are serving responsibly.

Any business or entity that might be serving alcohol can contact the Police Department at 307-733-1430 and request a class specific to their needs.
