New Exterior Lighting Regulations became effective in the Town of Jackson on Sept. 21, 2016.

For a quick summary of the new regulations, check out our Exterior Lighting Reference Sheet.

These regulations will be incorporated into the Land Development Regulations after direction from Town Council is provided with regard to how to proceed with the District 2 regulations. The District 2 regulations were a series of amendments to the Land Development Regulations affecting Jackson's downtown core area. The amendments were put to a referendum vote, and on September 20, 2016 the Jackson community voted against them. As a result, the District 2 amendments are in the process of being repealed by Town Council. Planning Staff should know by October 18th how to incorporate the Exterior Lighting Standards into the Land Development Regulations.
