Town Hall Offices Closed Friday, November 10

Town Hall and the Administrative Offices will be closed tomorrow (Friday, November 10) in observance of Veteran's Day.

There will Veterans Day ceremony on held on Saturday, November 11th at 11:00 am in the Town Square. The American Legion invites the community to come and honor all those who served honorably in the military, whether in war or at peace.

Veterans Day began in 1919 as Armistice Day, marking the date when Germany and the allies signed a 1918 agreement to cease World War I hostilities. Earlier in 1919, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed Nov. 11 as the first commemoration of Armistice Day, saying: "To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory.”
