Town Council Actions - Monday, May 7

For your information, the following is an overview of the Town Council’s actions taken at yesterday’s special workshop, JIM, and regular meeting. 

 

Special Town Council Workshop
Monday, May 8
2:00pm

  • The Council interviewed four applicants for the two newly created seats on the Planning Commission / Board of Adjustment.  Chris Beaulieu and Abigail Petri were appointed.
Joint Information Meeting
Monday, May 8
3:00pm
  • The Council and Commission approved updates to the affordable housing and employee housing in-lieu fees, which are done annually.
  • The Council approved an award of bid for the Park Maintenance and Housing, joint approval is pending the County’s review of their Capital Improvement Plan.
  • The Council and Commission approved an award of bid for the construction of Fire Station One and a temporary fire station at the Fair Pavilion.
Town Council Evening Meeting
Monday, May 8
6:00pm
  • Police Officer Robert Osmond was welcomed to the Town’s PD.
  • The Mayor read a proclamation for Mental Health Month.
  • The Special Event and Temporary Sign Permit for People’s Market was approved.  Since the July 4 date for the People’s Market coincides with the Rotary’s fireworks event, it is under further review and will be brought to Council for consideration.
  • A sidewalk easement and Permanent Road & Utility easement was approved with Kudar Enterprises.
  • A LVE electric distribution ease was approved.
  • The flood protection project for Garaman Pathway was approved
  • Bids 18-19 and 18-20 were awarded to Spradley Barr Motors for 2 AWD Police Utility Vehicles and 2 AWD 4-door Policy sedans.
  • Malt beverage permits were approved for the JH Juggernauts.
  • The Council approved a $225,000 budget for the design of the Cache Drainage Tube and partial construction of Phase 1.
  • Construction staging and phasing at 110 Center Street was approved.
  • Council approved Planning items P17-166, -167, 168 related to Fire Station One, P17-122 related to a lot split at 660 West Broadway, and P18-110 an encroachment agreement at 10 East Broadway for the Roadhouse Brewing.
  • The government agency shared solar electric photovoltaic panel project at the wastewater treatment plant was approved.
  • The Council discussed regulations which address E-Bikes and E-Bikes on Pathways.  Three ordinances amending Title 10 and Title 12 of the municipal code were discussed and were approved at first reading.
  •  The Town Manager’s Report contained an update on the Town’s new website and an upcoming culture survey.
