Summary of Town Council Action taken on September 18

The following is an overview of Town Council actions taken yesterday at the Town Council regular evening meeting. The Council did not hold a 3pm workshop.
  • The Council heard a great deal of public comment in support of the previous Snow King SnoCross special event that had been denied.  Afterward, the Council decided to hold a special meeting on September 25th in order to decide whether or not they wish to reconsider the previous vote which denied the event.  If that reconsideration vote passes, the Council would then consider the special event again and hold a new vote on the request.
  • The Council approved a minor change in the ownership name on the Snow King Mountain resort liquor license.
  • Bid 18-04 was awarded to Teton Motors for two new mid-size 4x4 pickup trucks.
  • Temporary Sign Permits were approved for Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival and Search & Rescue subject to conditions and restrictions.
  • The 2nd Renewal of the Vehicle Towing and Impound Storage Contract was approved with Ron’s Towing.
  • The Council reviewed the retail liquor license held by The Mattheis Company and will hold a hearing on October 16 for a transfer application that had been submitted.
  • A revision to Ordinance Z was discussed to include a way for a landlord to cure a default of the notice requirement.  The Ordinance will be amended and brought back to Council for first reading on October 16..

The Town Manager reported on sales and lodging tax, and special events approved at the staff level.
