Snow King Avenue Sewer Main Replacement and Road Closure Information.

SNOW KING AVENUE SEWER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT

Construction Information:  The Snow King Avenue Sewer Main Replacement Project will be commencing on Monday, April 10th. The scope of this project involves realignment and replacement of approximately 1500 linear feet of clay sewer main with new PVC piping, manholes, and service connections beginning just at the intersection of Flat Creek Drive and West Snow King Avenue, continuing east to the east entrance of the Town Public Works Yard, south to the easement/property line, and east to the end of the alleyway west of South Millward Street south of the Teton County Parks & Rec. maintenance facility.

Ridgeline Excavation is the Contractor for the project and will begin operations Monday morning with site mobilization and traffic control set-up, followed by exploratory excavations prior to beginning installation of the new sewer main.

The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of May.

Road Closure Information:  Construction operations to complete exploratory excavation and installation of a new manhole within the Flat Creek Drive/West Snow King Avenue intersection will require closure of the intersection starting Monday morning, April 10th. This closure is expected to re-route and detour eastbound traffic on West Snow King Avenue at Virginian Lane north to West Broadway Avenue. Travelers approaching the intersection from the south will be detoured east to South Millward Street.

Westbound and southbound traffic approaching the intersection will be allowed to proceed as normal. This partial intersection closure is anticipated to last until Wednesday, April 12th. Upon completion of the manhole installation within the intersection, construction of the new sewer main will proceed east within the eastbound travel lane of Snow King Avenue. During this time, eastbound traffic will be restricted during working hours and detoured north on Flat Creek Drive to West Kelly Avenue. Westbound traffic will continue to be allowed to proceed as normal.

Teton County School District bus operations will be allowed to continue operations and use of existing bus stops as normal to avoid conflict and confusion following spring-break.

START Bus operations WILL be affected by the closures and restriction of eastbound traffic on Snow King Avenue. During the initial intersection closure, the eastbound bus stops west of Flat Creek Drive, at Cowboy Village, and in front of the County Fair Building will be closed. Once construction progresses east along the corridor, the eastbound stop in front of the County Fair Building will be the only closure.

Additional Information: Pedestrian/Bicycle access within the vicinity of the project area will be available at all times, however, pedestrians and bicyclists are asked to use the north side of Snow King Avenue in the vicinity of the project site to avoid conflicts and dangers associated with construction equipment and operations.

The roadway will be open to travel on nights and weekends, however, please be aware of construction signs and barricades, as open trenches will be allowed overnight to help expedite the construction progress.
Please be aware of, and obey all construction notification, detour and parking restriction signage as it is there for your safety and the safety of the construction workers.
