Snake River Management Plan Development Schedule

With the 2017 summer drawing to a close, we are now in the process of gathering information and reviewing the past years data as we move forward in developing a plan for 2018 and beyond.  The County has contracted with the original developers of the plan, Confluence Research and Consulting to analyze data from the past 3 years and make recommendations for moving the plan into the future.  The schedule for their process follows:

Dec 1- Draft of final report and recommendations posted for public comment.

Dec 5, 5:30pm, Town Council Chambers- Introduction of the SRMP recommendations to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, Public Comment Welcome.

Dec 18, 1:30pm, Board of County Commissioners' Chambers- Introduction of the SRMP recommednations to the Board of County Commissioners.

Dec 19, 9:00am- The Board of County Commissioners will welcome public comment on the recommendations.

Jan- BCC makes decision regarding recommendations and long term permit process.

Please note that all future trip reservations will be subject to the adoptions, findings and revisions of the Snake River Management Plan as adopted by the Board of County Commissioners for the 2018 season and beyond.

 

Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation recently took over managment of public access to the Snake River in Teton County.  The Snake River Management Plan that was adopted by the Teton County Board of County Commissioners outlines the department's role in regulating commercial use on the Snake River in Teton County.  Any commercial outfitter must apply for certfication and will be subject to regulations controlling the total number of commercial boats that are permitted to use this section of river.
