Snow King Estates Water Main Line Improvements 

CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION

Project:  Snow King Estates Water Main Line Improvements

 

Construction Information:  Due to the depth of frost within the ground on Snow King Drive, work to install the new water main is being postponed until Monday, May 7th.

Next Scheduled Information Update:  May 4, 2018 

Road Closure Information:  Please expect limited road access with flagger throughout this project. Town of Jackson will deliver flyers to effected people prior to any road closure..  Residents in the areas will need to have their cars below the construction by 8:00am and they will be able to drive back to their houses after 6:00pm.

Important Additional Information:   Thursday’s water shutdown and work to tie-in the new water main to the existing water system infrastructure was completed. Due to some complications with alignment, the water shutdown to complete the work took longer than anticipated.

The project involves replacement of approximately 6,000 linear feet of water main within Snow King Drive and is scheduled to be completed by the end of October 2018.

Please expect heavy crew activity through the project.

Residences will have access during this project, however, access may be limited at times due to construction activities. Please plan accordingly. Construction work hours will be from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Pedestrian and bicycles will be able to pass through the construction area.

Pearl Avenue Asphalt Mill & Asphalt Overlay Project

 

CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION

Project: West Pearl Avenue Mill & Asphalt Overlay

 

Construction Information:  Scheduled for the weeks of May 7th through May 18th.  The project involves milling of the existing asphalt pavement surface and overlay with new asphalt pavement surface and overlay with new asphalt pavement from South Cache Street to South Jackson Street. The work itself will likely be completed in a short window of time, weather permitting.

Next Scheduled Information Update: April 30, 2018

Road Closure Information:  Expect complete street closures to occur.  Pearl Avenue between the intersections of Cache Drive and Jackson Street.   There will be major through traffic disruptions

No parking during the day. Cross streets will generally be open.

Bikes on roads will not be allowed.    The sidewalks will remain open.  Sidewalks are designated for pedestrian travel.  

Weather permitting milling of existing asphalt pavement surface is scheduled to begin Mid-May starting from intersection of Pearl Ave and South Cache Street to the intersection of Pearl Ave and South Jackson Street. The work itself will likely be completed in a short window of time, weather permitting.

Residences and business will have access during this project, however access may be limited at times due to construction activities. Please plan accordingly. Construction work hours will be from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Important Additional Information:   Weather permitting milling of existing asphalt pavement surface is scheduled to commence April 2nd starting from intersection of Pearl Ave and South Cache Street to the intersection of Pearl Ave and South Jackson Street. The work itself will likely be completed in a short window of time, weather permitting.

The sidewalk will remain open.

Please note there will be major through traffic disruption and no parking allowed on days during the following activities:

  • Asphalt Milling Process: requires milling/grinding down 2” deep and removing the old asphalt with a very large milling machine which discharges into large dump trucks. We will be posting No Parking signs along Pearl Avenue during this process.  
  • Asphalt Overlay Process: requires large dump trucks dumping new asphalt into the laydown machine during the installation of the new 2” asphalt overlay. We will be posting No Parking signs along Pearl Avenue during this process.

Sidewalk Improvement Project
 

Construction Information:  Scheduled for the weeks of April 9 through Mid-May.

Road Closure Information:  No road closures will occur during sidewalk project.

 

Important Additional Information:  Work on sidewalk construction from The Marriot Alley south to the alley in the 400 Block, South side of Kelly Ave from Cache to Jackson Street commenced April 9th. No interruption of traffic will occur during this construction project where this is new sidewalk construction. The Zero to 100 block of West Kelly Ave between Cache and Glenwood will have disruptions where existing sidewalk will be replace by the Baptize Church.

The 2018 Sidewalk Improvement Project will connect the corridors of South Cache Street and South Millward Street along the south side of West Kelly Avenue, in addition to completing sidewalk on South Millward Street to fill the gap between the new Marriott Hotel and the St. John’s Apartment Building.

Weather permitting, the project is scheduled to be completed between April 2nd and June 8th, 2018.  Construction hours will be Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00am and 7:00pm.  This project may cause some traffic disruption as well as parking closures as sidewalks are being built.  

The project generally consists of constructing approximately 9,000 square feet of concrete sidewalk, approximately 580 lineal feet of curb and gutter, alleyway and driveway approaches, ADA ramps, associated crushed base, 720 square feet of concrete pavers, 20 cubic yards of top soil, 1,300 lineal feet dry utility trenching, street lights, electrical system tie in, and asphalt street patching.

Spring Street Patching Project 

Construction Information:  Scheduled for Mid-May and should be completed by end of June.

Next Scheduled Information Update: April 30, 2018

Road Closure Information:  Possible road closures (single lane) could occur, flaggers will be in place to help move traffic passed construction area.

Important Additional Information: This project is scheduled to begin Mid-May. Down Town Square area will be the first targeted area. Moving throughout town to hit numerous locations.

Residences and business will have access during this project, however access may be limited at times due to construction activities. Please plan accordingly. Construction work hours will be from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Pedestrian and bicycles will be able to pass through the construction area, as the sidewalk will remain open.

Weather permitting, the project is scheduled to be completed between April 15th and June 30th.

Smith Lane  / Simon Lane Sewer Project 

The Town of Jackson Sewer Replacement Projects have been in place for many years in an effort to address locations within the Town of Jackson’s sewer network that are deteriorating. Generally every year the Town identifies a deteriorating section of the sewer system and replace it with new materials, higher capacity (if necessary), and a more planned approach to serving the Town of Jackson with sewer service.

Weather permitting, the project is scheduled to be completed between April 16th and June 15th, 2018.  Construction work will take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00am and 7:00pm.   When the sewer line is being installed across Maple Way this road will be closed for 2 days during this process.  Traffic will be re-routed via Alpine Lane.  It is anticipated that traffic along Simon Lane and Smith Lane will be minimally impacted.   Parking in these areas will be impacted during the construction project.  

The project includes replacement of approximately 1125 feet of 8-inch sewer main, 6 sewer manholes, 22 sewer services, 390 feet of 15-inch storm drain, 1 storm drain manhole, 4 storm inlets, concrete curb and gutter, valley gutter, sidewalk repairs, plant mix pavement street repairs, and miscellaneous associates work.

West Broadway Landslide / Budge Drive Project 

Work will resume on completing the landslide remediation efforts that started last year.   It is anticipated that work will begin in early April to complete the project.  It is anticipated that the remediation efforts will be complete by September.

Project: West Broadway Landslide / Budge Drive Project

 

Construction Information:  Scheduled for the weeks of April 2nd through September 30th

 

Next Scheduled Information Update: April 30, 2018

 

Road Closure Information:  Budge Drive was closed to the public April 23rd. At this time the temporary access road will be opened to the residents of upper Budge Drive. The temporary access road is accessible from HWY 22. 

 

Important Additional Information: 

Beginning May 15th and for the following two weeks, access along the upper portion of Budge Drive will be limited due to utility installation. Access to and from residences from 8am to 6pm may not be possible due to construction activities for these two weeks. Emergency access will be accommodated during this time frame.

 

Budge Drive and the Hillside upper and lower parking areas east of Sidewinders will open to the public June 30th. When Budge Drive opens to the public the temporary access road will be closed.

 

On July 7th the temporary parking area located on the south side of the Hillside Building along Broadway will be closed to the public and reclaimed.

 

Construction of the sidewalk and cycle track along Broadway will start July 9th and continue through September.

 

The West Broadway Landslide Remediation Project is scheduled to be completed September 30th. All dates mentioned above are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. The Town of Jackson will resume providing bi-weekly construction updates beginning April 16th.

 

Pedestrians are not to enter the construction site, the stairwell at the east end of the Hillside building, near Sidewinders shall be used to travel from Upper Budge Drive to Broadway. Pedestrians are not to use the closed portion of Budge Drive to access Broadway.

Gros Ventre Roundabout 

Construction of a roundabout and other safety improvements located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 26/89/191 and Gros Ventre Road and Sagebrush Drive in the southern area of Grand Teton National Park will begin on Monday, April 2. Construction activities are planned to continue through the end of November.
